Silvia Beatriz Abisaab is an artist, organizer, and active member based in Kansas City, MO. She received her BFA (Photography) from the Kansas City Art Institute in 2016. Silvia utilizes photo and video to collaboratively work with individuals and organizations in the greater Kansas City community.
Silvia has shown work at the H&R Block Artspace, La Esquina, Open House, and Vulpes Bastille. She has contributed to numerous art spaces and organizations such as 50/50, Front/Space, H&R Block Artspace, The East Gallery, KCAI Crossroads Center for Contemporary Practice, Epsten Gallery, and Charlotte Street Foundation.
In 2016, Silvia and leading artists, Jahaira Aguilar, Patricia Bordallo Dibildox, JC Franco, Rodolfo Marron III, Lynnette MIranda (founder), Chico Sierra, and William Toney organized AOCA (Artists of Color Alliance) for self-identifying creatives of color in the Midwest region.
In addition to her art practice, Silvia works in the Admissions department at the Kansas City Art Institute as an Admissions Counselor. She currently serves as the Artist Liaison + Community Outreach Manager at Front/Space.
